One Day in December by Josie Silver - Aldo
This novel follows a woman named Laurie who, at first, doesn't believe in love at first sight. However, that all changes one day when she sees a man at the bus stop. They lock eyes, and she instantly knows he's the one. She spends the next year looking for him at every bus stop and café.
They will inevitably meet again. Laurie scans every bus stop and cafe in London for him a year. However, she does not see him when it matters. Instead, they “reunite” at a Christmas party when her best friend Sarah introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It’s Jack, the man from the bus.
The ten years that follow for Laurie, Sarah, and Jack are filled with friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, undecided roads, and destinies. A joyous, heartwarming, and incredibly moving love story about losing yourself, One Day in December reminds us that fate may take unexpected turns along the way.
I really liked the novel and all the twists and turns that it takes. It was great to see how the characters all helped each other find happiness. A few holes and questionable decisions in the book are hard to believe. For example, I don't see the idea of the main characters falling in love through a bus window. As a matter of fact, you'd be better off just saying, "oh, he's hot," and moving on with your day; not worth stalking someone for a year.
Overall it's a good book that is filled with drama if you're into that kind of literature. The ending is predictable like all other romance book endings, but yeah good read. I would give it a 7.5 out of ten.

You do have a good point on how its questionable that she turned a 180 on "love doesn't exist" thinking right away. Though, it does seem that their friendship is something that has a tremendous amount of value in their lives.
