To kill a Kingdom review

To kill a kingdom is a twist on a usual story people know as a fairy tale. It's a unique book that anyone will surely fall in love with. The story talks about a young princess siren named Lira. She has collected 17 hearts throughout her life and is considered one of the deadliest of her kind. However, one day, she is forced to kill one of her kind (siren), which leads to her mother, the queen, transforming her into the one thing they dread the most, a human. Fortunately, not all is lost. If she wants to revert into a siren, she must obtain the of prince Elian and deliver it to the sea queen; otherwise, she will remain a human forever.

I personally loved this book. I liked all the twists and turns that it had, along with the many accounted-for suspense. I mostly liked the depth of the characters and how in tune they were with each other. Both the protagonist and counterpart brought the story together, and it was really empowering to see how good they were together and how close they got as the book went on.

The book is well written and very interesting. It is sure always to keep you interested and wanting more. The wordplay in this book is whimsical, and you are granted a few chuckles throughout the book. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is really into fairy tale-type stories that are a little more intense and action-packed. Altogether, it was an entertaining read, and I'm happy I could experience it. I would rate it an 8.5 out of ten.

  1. Sounds like an interesting book! Definitely something to add to my reading list. Also, just to clarify (because I was confused about the last sentence of the first paragraph of this blog), I searched up this book online and found that it is Elian's heart that Lira must obtain. Aside from that, this blog is very well written and doesn't give too much away.

  4. I like the idea of a fantasy book not copying the usual Harry Potter format. Nice review too. I like how you keep the synopsis short and sweet.

  5. For some reason, I thought of the little mermaid. But anyway, great job! It sounds very cool and suspenseful with its twists and turns. Is it like a series of books or just one book?
